Praise the Lord and welcome to 2013. It is my prayer that you will continue to experience God’s blessing. This year the Lord will continue to bless you and keep you. He will make His face shine upon you. He will be gracious to you and give you peace. Just be obedient to Him and keep the faith. This site invites you to join in talking the gospel. Join the community of believers experiencing the Grace of God and together practicing Love, Acceptance and Forgiveness. God loves you! Keep the faith and spread it as it is. God bless you!
It is a year the Lord has made and so we must rejoice and be glad and use the year to serve Him in spirit and truth. I thank God for your continuous commitment and expression of love for God and the dying world. Your labour of love and work of faith must be evident in your faithful worship and generous giving to the work of the Kingdom of God and of Christ. As true followers of Christ, He calls upon us to worship God in spirit and truth. During the course of the year we will be focusing on this theme and asking the Lord to make the truth of this piece of scripture a reality in our lives. We want to grow from grace to grace and from faith to faith.
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24
The word of God is like a mirror that reflects our true nature in the light of God’s divine truth and nature. See image on page.
As we study and practice the truth of truly worshiping God, we need to bear in the mind the all important need to make time for God. We need to remind ourselves to redeem the time and make the most of it. This is important for true worship in spirit and truth
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15-16
Take note of the phrase ‘”redeeming the time”. It carries the idea of taking stock of slaves that one desires to buy back from slavery with the intention of setting them free; restoring them to their formal freedom and position. In a busy world like ours, our time could be sold over into slavery for many uses. Our quiet time, our time for church and fellowship meetings, our time for evangelism and helping others, our prayer and Bible study time, our personal fasting time and moments for meditation and reflection, quality family time, to name a few, could be times taken over as slaves for other “purposes”.
We need to carefully inspect what “times” in our day to day living we sold over to so called important activities and agenda. We need to buy them back and set them free to be use for their rightful purposes. To “redeem our time” also demands a price. There is a price to pay. We may lose the benefits we would otherwise gain for putting our enslaved time to other “uses”. But if we pay that price we would find our rightful purpose and our lives will be fruitful for the Master Jesus Christ. That is what it means to make the most of our time for God. Are you willing to examine your schedule and put your life to its rightful use day by day to the praise and glory of God? If you are not doing anything for the Kingdom business- no matter how little or insignificant it may seem, then it is time to “reddem the time”. The days are evil. The generation we live in does not favor commitment to the purposes of God. The secret is tactfully and consciously making the most of our God given moments for His glory on a daily basis
Redeem your time in 2013 and be blessed. Amen
